Baltimore Faerie Faire Anti-Harassment Policy

Do not harrass other beings. It is essential that FaeryCon and other Baltimore Faerie Faire events be safe spaces, free from harassment. A costume is not consent to your advances, and a lack of costume is not consent, either.

It is essential that anyone giving flirtatious attention to someone quickly and accurately determines whether it is WELCOME.  If you have any doubt, assume your attention is unwelcome.  However, some folks are not good at reading others, so if attention to you is unwanted, please, if you feel comfortable and safe doing so, exercise your personal power and state that the behavior needs to stop. If Someone does not stop, or if you just can’t speak to it, please report this to the event admissions desk immediately.

Photos

We Are photo friendly.

Attendees should be aware that many creatures will be videotaping or photographing other creatures and the press might be there too. Attendees are responsible for notifying that photographer if they do not wish to be included in images, or just get out of the way. We realize this is very different from the photo policies at  some conventions. “Don’t take pictures of me” should be respected, and if not, if a photographer does not stop, please report this to one of the staff immediately.

Alcohol

We hope you will not drink until you puke or blackout or damage yourself in any way. The drinking age in Maryland is 21. Violation of these laws will result in immediate expulsion from the convention. Hotels require all alcohol consumed in the bar, restaurant or convention space be served by hotel employees. Outside purchase alcohol must be consumed in the privacy of the Attendee’s room.
